Sarmayex, the first cryptocurrency exchange in Iran (operating in the fintech sector), initially began its activities in 2012 in software development and later, in 2017, entered the digital currency market under the brand name “Arzjoo”. In 2021, the brand transitioned to Sarmayex, continuing its operations with innovative services in digital currencies and investment. Today, it is recognized as the largest and most established digital currency platform in Iran, particularly among its one million valued users.
ChallengeSarmayex aimed to present its unique brand features cohesively at the 27th International Elecomp Exhibition by launching a special campaign. The campaign needed to showcase the one million valued users of Sarmayex as a crucial asset to visitors at Elecomp, particularly those visiting their booth. Additionally, the campaign sought to attract new users within the booth space and through other communication methods.
One of the most critical aspects of this campaign was the design of the Sarmayex booth at the exhibition. The design needed to reflect a unique integration between the booth structure and the brand’s features, specifically highlighting Sarmayex’s asset of one million valued users.
However, the main challenge Sarmayex faced was the limited time available before the Elecomp exhibition. They needed to quickly develop the campaign strategy, design and build their booth, and prepare the necessary resources to attract new users using various effective communication methods.
SolutionTrust: Sarmayex’s Core AssetPlatin Communications and Marketing Agency, selected by Sarmayex to develop the campaign strategy, booth design, and other essential actions, swiftly began their work. Platin, recognizing the importance of Sarmayex’s one million valued users, identified that Sarmayex had earned the trust of these users, making them valuable assets to the company. In financial platforms like Sarmayex, trust is of paramount importance. Therefore, the overall strategy was based on trust, and after segmenting the target audience, particularly booth visitors, a communication strategy was developed.
Design and Execution Stages1.Strategy DevelopmentThe first step involved Platin’s strategy department conducting research on the digital currency industry (fintech), assessing challenges, and analyzing the market. This provided a detailed and high-level understanding of the industry. Further activities were carried out to understand the audience and their challenges. Platin concluded that the biggest challenge for businesses like Sarmayex is earning trust. Hence, the campaign’s mission was to highlight the trust users have in Sarmayex. Considering Sarmayex’s asset of one million valued users, the strategy was to focus the campaign on showcasing this asset, which represents the trust users have in the business, potentially attracting new users.
2.Idea GenerationPlatin’s creative department, based on the communication strategy and the theme of trust, began brainstorming and eventually landed on the concept of transparency. They realized that Sarmayex’s transparency was the reason behind the trust of its users. Consequently, Platin designed a campaign to embed the concept of transparency as a core feature of Sarmayex in the minds of the audience, especially visitors to the 27th International Elecomp Exhibition.
3.Campaign Slogan DevelopmentThe Sarmayex campaign began, by creating a special slogan for this initiative. After identifying the concept of transparency, Platin’s creative department designed the campaign slogan: “A Credibility as Transparent as Our One Million Valued Users.” This slogan represented Sarmayex at the Elecomp exhibition.
4.Booth Design and ExecutionIt’s important to note that all prior stages were completed in just six days, and the booth construction was finished in four days, demonstrating Platin’s speed and precision. The booth design needed to reflect the trust, unity, and transparency of Sarmayex. To achieve this, glass was used as a symbol of transparency. Additionally, a large circle was designed at the center of the booth, symbolizing the gathering of members in a ring, representing trust and unity among the members. This circle was in fact a VIP room, where important meetings were held with notable individuals, but with the difference that it was all transparent, showcasing Sarmayex’s transparency.
5.Gamification Design and ExecutionTo attract new users, Platin designed a cryptocurrency related game, where visitors to the Elecomp booth could win prizes. Importantly, the prize for this game was a specific amount of cryptocurrency, which would ultimately introduce the winners to Sarmayex’s user platform.
6.Exhibition Gift Design and ExecutionTo attract specific visitors to the Sarmayex booth, transparent cards were designed, each containing a specific amount of cryptocurrency as a prize, encouraging new users to join Sarmayex’s platform.
ConclusionA comprehensive set of actions was designed and executed, resulting in the successful embedding of Sarmayex’s core feature—trust and the concept of transparency—in the minds of booth visitors. Ultimately, Sarmayex expressed satisfaction with Platin’s swiftness, precision, and the delivered quality.
