Design of the Zikertu Packaging

Introduction

Zikreto is an Iranian brand with a specialized focus on active lifestyles, developing personal care products tailored to the needs of physically active individuals. Zikreto’s line of shampoos, body washes, sprays, and body splashes is designed for those who value movement, health, and quality. With an emphasis on delivering professional hygiene solutions, the brand aims to be a daily companion for its energetic and dynamic customers.

The Challenge

Zikreto approached Platin Marketing & Communications Agency with the challenge of designing packaging for its product line. From the outset, our strategic team identified a potential issue: while focusing exclusively on professional athletes may create short-term differentiation, in the long run, it could limit audience reach and hinder sales growth.

Audience Insight

Consumer behavior research revealed that many individuals, while not identifying as “professional athletes,” regularly engage in physical activities—from daily walks and cycling to sports like badminton or yoga. These consumers care about their health and mobility and can rightfully be considered part of the active lifestyle community.

Strategy

Based on this insight, our strategy team arrived at a powerful central concept:

You Don’t Have to Be a Champion.”

This concept opened up new possibilities for the brand and allowed it to connect with a broader audience. Platin proposed that Zikreto expand its focus beyond professional athletes and instead, support anyone leading an active lifestyle.

Consequently, Zikreto’s audience was reimagined as “uncut diamonds”: valuable, unique, lovable, and evolving.

Visual Identity Design

The brand’s visual elements were developed around the “uncut diamond” concept. Four distinctive diamond icons in different colors were introduced as dynamic visual assets. Each diamond represented a different product line while maintaining a consistent and cohesive brand identity. This visual system enhanced the clarity and expansion potential of Zikreto’s visual language.

Packaging Design

A key question guided the packaging process: What makes a customer choose Zikreto over other products on the shelf?

Packaging was treated not just as a visual asset, but as the primary touchpoint between brand and consumer. It needed to instantly communicate brand essence, product differentiation, essential information, and visual identity.

Competing in a local market where foreign health care imports face restrictions, Platin identified a key opportunity: Iranian consumers are becoming more attentive to professional design and high-quality packaging. Therefore, our goal was to develop packaging that matched the standards of leading international brands while standing out clearly on the shelf.

Packaging Form & Material Selection

Zikreto’s packaging used sleek black PET bottles—a choice that conveyed strength, resilience, and a premium feel. This decision made the products visually striking and memorable in retail environments.

However, this choice came with technical challenges. Producing black PET bottles in Iran is complex, and direct printing on them is expensive. Rather than compromise, Platin developed an innovative alternative: custom-designed transparent labels that aligned with the brand’s identity while maintaining both beauty and functionality.

Label Structure & Graphic Design

The labels were designed to deliver both essential hygiene-related information (such as ingredients, usage instructions, and expiration dates) and key product details (type, function, unique benefits, scent) in a clear, accessible format.

A conscious approach to content hierarchy was adopted. Global branding benchmarks showed that excessive information at the point of purchase can overwhelm the customer rather than assist. Prioritizing clarity, we highlighted critical data while placing secondary information in a logical layout—creating a user-friendly experience that supported quick decision-making.

Brand Identity Integration

The brand’s dynamic visual identity, represented by colorful diamonds, was directly incorporated into the packaging. Each of the four product lines—BALL, SPORTS, ARTISTIC, and ENDURANCE—was introduced with a unique color and visual motif.

This helped customers quickly identify products while establishing a clear, scalable expansion system. When launching new product lines, only a new color and graphic element need to be introduced—allowing the core packaging structure to remain intact and brand recognition to stay strong.
